Gratitude and Next Steps: Mindfulness, Trauma and Interpersonal Healing in Education

Our presenters, from left to right: Dr. Dan Siegel, Caverly Morgan, Gia Naranjo-Rivera, Dr. Sará King, and Principal Carl Reinhold

We want to extend a warm thank you to everyone who attended our sold-out Mindfulness, Trauma, and Interpersonal Healing in Education panel! We couldn’t have asked for a more powerful, inspiring and beautiful evening.

A special, deeply heartfelt thanks to our truly amazing and gifted collaborators: Dr. Dan Siegel, Dr. Sará King, Gia Naranjo-Rivera, Caverly Morgan, and Principal Carl Reinhold. Big thanks to Katharine Barnes and Barnaby Willett for event management and production. Thanks also to Revolution Hall for hosting us, Diggable Monkey for videography, and Vineet Teames for photography.

We're excited to announce that Caverly Morgan, Dr. Sará King of MindHeart Consulting, and Gia Naranjo-Rivera of Johns Hopkins University are planning a collaboration (and possible podcast!) with Paul Roland from KBOO radio around the intersection of mindfulness and other contemplative practices, social justice, and individual and collective healing and well-being. If you missed their most recent interview on KBOO, you can listen here.

We're also delighted to announce that Dr. King is joining the Peace in Schools team as a Scientific Consultant. Our collaboration with MindHeart Consulting will allow us to merge the evidence-based science of well-being with Dr. King's work on the "Science of Social Justice," in order to further our commitment to uplifting the values of social justice through mindfulness education.

We hope to continue the dialogue around truth, trauma, and healing by holding additional community conversations and events in the future that center youth and diverse community voices. Stay tuned for more updates!

Thank you so much for your engagement and participation in this vital work, and please spread the word to others who might benefit.
