I love your mission! How do I get involved?

If you are in a position to contribute financially, making a donation is one of the simplest ways to support our work! We particularly rely on our Circle of Support, made up of dedicated monthly donors. You can make a donation here! If you’re interested in contracting with Peace in Schools to bring Mindful Studies to your school, or to to offer adult mindfulness education to your staff, or are interested in contributing in another way, we welcome you to each out via our Contact Us form to let us know!

Can I purchase your curriculum?

At this time, our curricula (both teen and adult) are not available to purchase. Peace in Schools staff and teachers consistently iterating our content based on participant feedback and emerging research in the field of mindfulness. We are also proud to offer extensive and ongoing training to our teachers in support of maintaining the fidelity and depth of our curriculum. However, we do offer a number of courses for adults, and curate mindfulness resources across our website and YouTube channel. If you are interested in becoming certified to teach Mindful Studies, please check out our Teacher Certification & School Partnership page!

What schools are you currently partnered with?

Peace in Schools is currently in partnership with the Portland Public Schools District at the district level. We then coordinate program implementation with each individual school, particularly their Principal, counseling and administrative staff. Once our class is forecasted, we begin working with a co-teacher, who will have already been an educator employed by that school, to facilitate the Peace in Schools Mindful Studies curriculum for students. You can see our current Portland Public Schools partners on our Mindful Studies for Teens page!

How do I become a Mindfulness Teacher?

We offer a variety of adult courses designed to enrich the personal mindfulness practices of participants, and to support a growing community of embodied educators. We are also piloting our Mindful Studies Partnership Program in Oregon and the California Bay Area, which will offer participants an in depth training experience culminating in a certification to teach Mindful Studies at their school. If you’re interested in employment with Peace in Schools, we will post job openings under in the “Community” section on our website as they become available.

How do I start my own mindfulness program at my school?

Every school district, individual school, and school community is unique, so the answer to this question will depend a lot on your specific school and your desired programatic structure and student outcomes. For example, an after school program may require a different type of development and credentialing than a for-credit class taking place during the school day. We encourage you to be in touch with folks on your schools administrative leadership staff to learn what’s possible! If you are looking for ways to support your individual mindfulness practice as an educator in an effort to embody mindfulness in the classroom with your students, we’d love to point you in the direction of our adult courses. If you live in the Portland or California Bay Area and are interested in becoming certified to teach Mindful Studies and developing a partnership between Peace in Schools and your own school, we welcome you to explore our Mindful Studies Partnership Program page!
